Major Dalim

Major Dalim stated, "Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's government built the foundation of Bangladesh by following the four pillars of India."

He further remarked, "Rabindranath Tagore, the composer of India's national anthem and an Indian citizen, wrote the song that was adopted as Bangladesh's national anthem. Bangladesh had many talented poets, including Kazi Nazrul Islam, yet none of their works were chosen for this honor. Why was a song by an Indian citizen selected as the national anthem? I believe this is unprecedented in world history."

Major Dalim questioned, "Why was Kazi Nazrul Islam, our national poet, not honored with his work as the national anthem? He wasn't the only prominent poet; Bangladesh had many renowned literary figures. So why was a song by an Indian citizen chosen to represent Bangladesh?"

He went on to say, "Sheikh Mujib's rule resembled a dictatorship. His governance created a yearning for freedom among the people, who prayed for relief from his tyranny."

Major Dalim also claimed, "When the so-called leaders fled to India, leaving the country without proper leadership, everyone was trying to negotiate compromises. At this time, as the Pakistani army began attacking Bengalis, Major Zia declared independence. As a member of the Pakistan Army then, I was moved by Major Zia's declaration. It was clear there was no time to hesitate, and that’s when we went to war against Pakistan."

It is notable that Major Dalim was one of the key figures involved in the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on August 15, 1975.
